Supporting the Community

We are focused on getting individuals furthest away from the job market back into employment, starting their own business, supporting the community and provide innovation within existing businesses in Rhyl and North Wales. We have a family learning programme which delivers in Schools, Libraries and Community venues across North Wales – find out more..

  • Over 10,000 learners supported at our learning centre the Bee and Station Business Centre in Rhyl and throughout North Wales
  • Provided over £72,000 back to the community in volunteering, free courses, supporting community based projects and training
  • Helped 300 individuals back into employment/self-employment, volunteering and further education
  • Department for Work and Pensions ‘New Skills, New Life’ programme with over 40 people furthest away from employment – read some testimonials
  • Creating a Sustainable 3D Printing & Plastic Recycling Centre, launching June/July 2017 – find out more
  • Launched our new e-learning platform with a range of free courses & learning resources – learn.g2gcommunities.org, take the free Exploration of Mars course
  • Delivered Communities First ‘Learn to Code’ workshops
  • Delivered LEGO sessions to over fifty people on behalf of the Buckley Residence Association
  • Worked in partnership with Wrexham Communities First – Urban Village to deliver a range of ‘work skills’ to those furthest away from employment
  • Ran a successful pilot project with St Pauls Church, children and staff from Springfield Day Nursery in Llandudno to recreate the story of ‘Noah’s Ark’, ‘Jonah and the whale’ and the ‘wise man and the foolish man’, in song and animation. The children made several animated video’s using LEGO movie maker and iPads – watch their animation video
  • Delivered a LEGO activity at the RSPB in Conwy to over 30 children and their parents

Rhyl Learning Centre

Schools & Education

Delivering a range of STEAM courses and workshops to Schools across North Wales focused around the curriculum, school themes and pupil aspirations – find out more..

  • Worked with over 20 Schools throughout North Wales delivering to over 1,800 pupils & teachers
  • Communities First ‘Cloud 9’ pupil champion programme delivered by G2G Communities CIC. Parents and children from Christchurch CP were the first School to pilot a new information technology programme called ‘Cloud 9’ – about the cloud 9 initiative
  • Reaching Wider castle project – Provided high quality indoor/outdoor experiences to a total of 61 pupils from Key Stage 2 in Flintshire, Denbighshire and Conwy visiting Conwy Castle – Reaching Wider Partnership
  • Working in partnership with the Prince’s Trust to support young aspiring entrepreneurs
  • Working with Anwyl Construction to provide safety workshops using LEGO Education in Schools to over 40 pupils

Education in Schools

Supporting Businesses

Providing courses, training, mobile services & equipment, offering a large range of bespoke courses, services, programmes and qualifications through our extensive partnerships. We also provide mobile services across North Wales delivering equipment, resources and staff at times and locations to suit organisational needs – find out more..

  • Gwynt Y MorGwynt y Môr Community Fund – G2G Communities CIC, with the support of the Gwynt y Môr Community Fund, started a new programme of activities in September 2016 which will run for 12 months. During the programme G2G will support individuals furthest away from employment across Flintshire, Denbighshire and Conwy
  • Nine virtual business start-ups supported and websites launched – business start-ups / websites launched
  • Delivered over 150 First Aid at Work Course QualSafe Awards – view our first aid courses

Events & Raising Awareness

  • Dr William Lockitt, G2G Strategic Policy Director, became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) – read the full article
  • CADW Castle Historic LEGO Workshops to over 370 participants during 2016 – more about our work with CADW
  • Howels Trust ‘Historical Venue’ programme. Half and one day sessions throughout North Wales where pupils will be able to recreate Welsh historic monuments
  • For the third year running G2G Communities CIC attended the Big Bang Wales Rally GB 2016 on the 27th & 28th October
  • Delivered a presentation on behalf of Gwynt y Môr highlighting the activities and outcomes of the G2G Communities CIC funded project
  • We went international as twenty-two students from Vicenza, North East of Italy, came to visit us for an afternoon of space programming and building
  • Organised a Pokémon Go lure event on Rhyl Promenade in August 2016 with over 500 people attending, our star guests were a Lapras, Blastoise & Vaporeon
