G2G Communities CIC We make people more employable by making learning more enjoyable Making a difference with the Reaching Wider Partnership
With support from the North and Mid Wales Reaching Wider Partnership G2G Communities CIC is providing high quality indoor/outdoor experiences to a total of 61 pupils from Key Stage 2 in Flintshire, Denbighshire and Conwy visiting Conwy Castle and producing multimedia animated video’s and exploring medieval castles using Minecraft Education.
During the programme of activities pupils had the opportunity to undertake the following:
- One-day visit to Conwy Castle with a professional guided tour
- Completion of a quiz and questionnaire during the day of the visit
- During the second session build Castles out of LEGO and build in defences and attack strategies
- During the third session develop a theme or story about Castles and using iPads produce animated video’s
- During the fourth session use LEGO Storystarter and or LEGO WeDo robotics to reproduce historic battles and machines
- During the last session children created virtual worlds around Castles in Minecraft Education
A celebration and certification activity took place during the last 20 minutes of the final session
