Free digital photography courses a huge success!

On Friday 24th and Saturday 25th June G2G Communities CIC ran two free ‘Introduction to Digital Photography, Picasa and Windows Live Movie Maker’ courses. As well as getting learners out into the fresh air to take photographs they also learned more about their local environment and habitats so that they could revisit the locations and take further photographs in the future. Learners took their photographs off the cameras and then edited them in Picasa to produce final versions that were made into multimedia presentations.

Moira Lockitt (MD) said ‘The courses were a great success and received excellent feedback on both days. One of the learners went straight from the course, purchased a digital camera and is teaching his daughter how to use it and the packages he used during the day’.

‘Mark and Emily produced and delivered the courses and we are extremely pleased with the results’ ‘Learners are now asking for more in-depth courses and we will be looking at delivering these in the next few months’. ‘We have another two free introductory courses organised for August and these are already full booked’

Feedback from the learners included: ‘I never knew computers could be so much fun’ ‘This is fantastic I don’t want to go home’ ‘At last I know how to get all the photographs off my camera and save them onto my computer’ and ‘I can’t believe that free software can do so much, my daughter has just paid a fortune for photographs, she should have come on this course’.

Due to demand a further two free introductory courses have been arranged for August but were fully booked within days of advertising. G2G Communities CIC is investigating the possibility of running two further courses in September 2011, to register your interest book or enquire online.
