G2G Communities CIC has supported over 80 people during the ‘New Skills / New Life’ programme and the feedback from participants has been extremely positive. It is great to see the success of the project, walking around Rhyl and seeing our participants from the programme now working in local businesses and to hear from others who are now in employment, volunteering or continuing their education.
See what everyone had to say below about coming to our learning centre in Rhyl and attending the New Skills, New Life course, a 12 day over 6 weeks programme in partnership with the Job Centre and the Department for Works and Pensions (DWP). This course is provided to gain a range of work ready skills, qualifications, volunteer opportunities and confidence.
I really don’t know where to start; I have learnt many skills whilst attending the G2G course. Not only ones that involve qualifications but life skills about myself, I never knew I was capable of. The support I have had from all the members of staff has been amazing, listening and understanding any problems I came across. This made the course a lot more and relaxed then feeling nervous which I was very worried about it doing. The course has given me a lot of confidence in myself and also asking the right questions regarding jobs and interviews, being able to produce a C.V in confidence and ability to use a computer in more detail. I am gutted the course has had to come to an end, but also relived to know I can call up and the support will be there for me. Thank you so much G2G from the bottom of my heart, all the best to you and I hope you have a very good future.
I have learned a lot here, all the one to one support has helped me learn quicker and better. Any problems I have they sit down with me and talk it over, which personally I find easier to handle rather than someone standing in front of a class and just dictating to me.
This course has helped me to get more qualifications; it has given me confidence and more skills to find jobs.
I am very glad to have had the opportunity to have been asked to come on this course.
I would like to thank all the people at G2G for all the help and support they have given me.
I have managed to update my first aid certificate, carrying out my ECDL and has opened myself to other courses and challenges.
We had so much support to keep going, they allowed us to carry on even though our course has finished. A brilliant company with so much to offer.
I would be very interested if I was able to return for more courses.
I have enjoyed the G2G course immensely. The whole experience has been a positive and motivating time.
I have achieved much more than I ever imagined computer wise and also have managed to come away with a First Aid and Food Hygiene certificate, which I am sure will help me secure a job (that’s right for me) in the near future. I would just like to say thank you for the opportunity.
I have learned a lot here and the staff have been very helpful. Any problems I have had they sat down with me and talked it over. Problems I did have they helped me solve them, which I personally find easier to handle rather than someone standing in front of a class and just dictating to me. This course has helped me to learn more about computers which I didn’t know anything about until I came here. It’s not just all work, work, work, we have had a few good laughs here and like I said all the staff are lovely.

The opportunity to learn computer skills, other than by night school, has never been there for my age group. This six week course provides an intensive learning opportunity to pick up those basic skills, to learn the jargon, to be able to discuss problems at first hand and with the excellent ratio of tutors to students, to give you the confidence to propel you further and progress you into a completely different league.
At the age of fight eight, my redundancy has given me the opportunity, which could be my last and only opportunity to receive such intensive training in the use of information technology. I have used computers for many years, all trade related and limited in use and application. Fellow work colleagues do not always want to share information.
I would like to thank both the Job Centre and the tutors of G2G for a fantastic opportunity to learn computer skills, First Aid along with job employability and interview skills.
I asked to attend this course and so glad I did. Bill, Moira and all the staff were all fantastic, made you feel welcomed and at home.
I learnt so much on the course, updated my C.V., and attended a First Aid Course. Had various lectures which helped, also did digital photography.
At the end of the course I received Emergency First Aid in the work place level 2, the ECDL Level 1 and 2, Agored Computer Certificate.
The course is so well organised and enjoyable. I would highly recommend attending G2G.
Brilliant tutor, went into the course not knowing what to expect and had a brilliant day, came out knowing a lot more. Very thankful to do it. Enjoyable, Exciting, Serious times and fun times. Overall couldn’t have been better. I learned so much I can use throughout life.
