LEGO NXT & EV3’s enable students to build, program and test their solutions based on real life robotics technology. It will give students an introduction to programming, using structured programming sequences activities in real-world robotics. Our sessions will get students thinking about the patterns and structure of not just robotics, but also programming, problem solving, and team work to help build confidence.
Due to how advanced our LEGO NXT & EV3 Robots work our students will find it a fun and engaging environment in which to learn with building robots and learning to programme.
About LEGO NXT & EV3
The EV3 Intelligent Brick is a powerful small computer that makes it possible to control motors and collect sensor feedback.
Students are encouraged to brainstorm in order to find creative solutions to problems and then develop them through a process of selecting, building, testing and evaluating them. This is also an excellent way of getting students to talk to each other and cooperate as well as giving hands on experience with an array of sensors, motors and intelligent units.
Sessions involve building and programming, using a unique drag and drop scripting language the children can program the robots to do virtually anything starting with basic shapes then moving onto more complicated algorithms.
We use a basic but powerful programming tools (see example image), which is similar to Scratch, another popular drag and drop programming language created for teaching children how to code.
Take a look at our custom LEGO WeDo Models
You won’t find these anywhere else! They have been created especially for supporting our LEGO sessions and the children love them and engage more with the sessions and you can find videos of some of them – Custom LEGO Models.
