This course is for people who would like to learn about general tree identification. It is an accredited course and you will receive an Agored OCN Level 1 worth 3 credits in General Tree Identification.
Learning Outcomes
- Show some understanding of how to distinguish between broad leaf trees and coniferous trees
- Show some understanding of the effects of pruning / coppicing on various spieces
- Show some understanding of different timber qualities
- Identify different broad leaf trees
- Identify at least 2 coniferous trees
- Describe some differences between braodleaf trees and coniferous trees
- Take part in a discussion on how different trees react to pruning and coppicing and give at least one example
- Take part in a discussion on diferent qualities of broad leaf trees and coniferous trees
