Partners with Ysgol ID Hooson, The World of Humanities & Space using Minecraft Education

Working in partnership with Ysgol ID Hooson G2G Communities CIC delivered twelve sessions of Minecraft Edu to over 150 pupils during four days of activities. Pupils had the opportunity to explore the World of Humanities, travel through time through history and experience what the world may be like in the future. They then had the task of building a Space rocket and blasting off to different parts of the solar system and exploring the Moon and Mars. So it was ‘All SySTEMs Go’ as they blasted off into the unknown.

The feedback from the children at the end of each session was extremely positive and we would like to thank the Head Teacher Mr Rhodri Jones, all the School support staff and the children for making these activities such fun and exciting.

Thank you Mr. Rhodri Jones, Head Teacher for the feedback
'The Minecraft workshop was a huge success. The children responded positively to the sessions, and made use of a variety of skills, including their literacy, numeracy and IT during the experience. I think that many of the pupils didn't actually realise that they were working and learning while utilising the Minecraft package. Many thanks to the G2G staff for their support in making it a success in our school. Diolch yn fawr.'

We Make a Big Bang in North Wales

For the third year running G2G Communities CIC had a stand at the Welsh Rally ‘Big Bang’ Education exhibition. Thousands of people attended the Big Bang during Thursday/Friday 27th/28th October, 2016.

During the event we highlighted some of our projects we are working on as part of the National Science Academy ‘All SySTEMs Go’ and UK Space Agency ‘Full STEAM Ahead’ space projects. Demonstrations and hands on remote vehicles, robotics and other technology helped to make Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics more understandable, fun and exciting.

We would like to thank Flintshire County Council and the organisers of the Big Bang event for the opportunity to showcase its activities. The event gets bigger and better each year and highlights the great work being undertaken by organisations in North Wales.
