Wrexham Adult Community Learner of the Year Awards 2016

We have nominated the Plas Madoc Friday Learning Group for the Group Learning Award.

Since working with the group at Communities First Wrexham Urban Villages over fifty local residents from a wide variety of backgrounds and skill levels have regularly attended, with the aim of improving their confidence, motivation, communication and employment prospects. Owing hugely to the commitment and dedication shown by the participants they have been very successful and achieved a range of industry recognised qualifications and skills.

Learners were from mixed backgrounds but soon form a supportive group and gained confidence as they progressed. Some were gaining their first qualification, others had poor educational experiences before, others required support with on-line forms and job hunting. Some were just looking to gain qualifications for work.

The results will be announced on Thursday 30 June at the Award Ceremony in Wrexham Library and we wish them every success.
